The Eduversity Instructional Methodology

Emhasis On Writing, Followed By Reading + Speaking

Welcome to a place where words matter. Student often find their writing not to be where they want it to be because they focus on “writing” like it’s the actual single important thing.

At Westwood, smart voices and original ideas take center stage. Westwood recognizes writing as the most important literacy skill. Our teachers also appreciate how important inventive reading is in a child’s development as a writer.

Hence, our curricula prioritizes its focus on academic writing firsthand. Our teachers focuse on common core features of academic writing (e.g. punctuation, referencing conventions and clarity) and vocabulary acquisition. Our students read aloud, model good reading strategies, expand opportunities for discussion, and share their own personal joy in reading and writing.

Reciprocal Teaching At Work: Strategies For Improving Reading Comprehension

Reciprocal Teaching

This approach to teaching provides opportunities for learning that go beyond repetition and memorisation of grammatical patterns in isolation. Accuracy and fluency are stimulated by speaking activities, role-plays and real-life simulations thus providing meaningful contexts and a desire to use the language.

The fundamental problem with traditional learning methods is that if someone hasn’t understood the concepts they were taught in class, no amount of homework is going to help them.

This is why we developed the RECIPROCAL METHOD – our approach to language learning, tailored to the needs of every learner. It combines the best course content, cutting edge learning techniques, and the very best teachers, all working together to accelerate the learning process and deliver the best results

Strategies So Effective Users Should Be Disqualified

Another great thing about Eduversity instructors is that they teach a lot of useful test-crushing skills and “Dirty Strategies” and provide many skill-building materials. In the “Building Supporting Skills” section, there are a lot of test-destroying strategies like studying vocabulary or building a study plan.

All skills are arranged in logical steps so you learn the basics before moving on to the harder concepts. In later sections, you learn specific strategies for approaching different kinds of test tasks and questions. For example, the Writing section teaches you how to write a thesis statement in the Introductory paragraph.

Measurable Results

We understand that training is of little value to your company unless results are tangible. There must be measurable outcomes and real impact on your organization.

Knowing how you are progressing is critical to learning a language. Without seeing real progress in realistic timescales, learner confidence and motivation can be undermined.

To monitor the students’ growth, Eduversity provides a clear and comprehensive progress report. Whether from the lessons learned, the completion of homework, the exam scores, the photos around the activities in the classroom and the responses from the teachers, they are all available to help students follow what are the strengths and weaknesses of the students that need attention.

Diagnotic Exam

Before meeting with an instructor, students take a full-length diagnostic test. The results of the diagnostic test are analyzed and made into a score report that allows our tutors to pinpoint students’ unique strengths and weaknesses.

Transparent Communication And Family Support

The most common feedback we get from parents is that our communication style is exceptional.

We don’t expect parents to stay on the sidelines. You deserve proof your child is getting a transformative experience from some of the best educators in the world.

We provide daily photos and video footage of primary school activities to keep you involved in every step of the students’ progress. Stay connected using our mobile app, and read our educational blog for a look at the interactive projects happening in our secondary school classes.

The students only have to show up ready to learn and participate. We make that easy by creating a positive, uplifting space where children are comfortable sharing their ideas and experiences.
